HELLO AGAIN, OLD FRIEND

Snake, not a screenshot.

The game

Eat the little crosses. Grow your snake. Don’t bite yourself. In “No maze,” the screen wraps around. Walls in the five extra mazes are solid. Every fifth food brings a bonus bug: get it before its timer runs out.

The controls

Steer with arrow keys, WASD, or 2 / 4 / 6 / 8. Tap the phone keys, use the thumb pad, or swipe anywhere on the LCD. Enter plays, Space or 0 pauses, Escape opens the game menu, and holding 5 gives a 2× speed boost. M toggles sound. F toggles focus mode. Screen taps play or pause.

The little details

A real 84 × 48 monochrome framebuffer. A GPU compute shader for liquid-crystal pixel response. Hand-drawn pixel lettering. Independent fixed-step simulation. Automatic pause when you leave, saved games, and offline play after the first visit on a hosted version.

A recreation, not emulation

This is a clean-room tribute to Snake II on the Nokia 3310, not original Nokia firmware. The handset is reconstructed as original vector artwork from reference photographs. The title artwork and sound are newly made. Maze layouts, speed timings, bonus rules, and LCD response are reconstructed interpretations, not ROM-verified or physically calibrated replicas. Display color varies with the original unit, light, angle, camera, and your monitor; 100% identity is not certified. Touch controls and focus mode are modern additions.
