ABOUT THIS BUILD

An independent
browser recreation.

This is a new HTML / JavaScript implementation with original pixel art, synthesized audio, and an instanced WebGPU sprite renderer. It is not an emulator and contains no ROM, extracted sprites, or original recordings.

The reference is the NES version of Double Dribble, released in 1987; the arcade original dates to 1986. The NES manual informed the controls, teams, period choices, three CPU difficulty levels, inbounds, shooting, and violations.

This build is not pixel-perfect or gameplay-perfect. Sprite poses, AI decisions, probabilities, collision behavior, clock behavior, close-ups, fouls, audio, menus, and trophy progression are independently reconstructed. They have not been compared frame by frame against an original cartridge.

Practice, the difficulty-ladder championship, auto-save, optional timing guides, and the surrounding browser interface are additions. Overtime and foul-bonus behavior are implementation choices, not verified original-game rules.

Double Dribble is a Konami game. This independent project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Konami or Nintendo. The original implementation code and original artwork in this package are MIT-licensed; no third-party trademark rights are granted.
